Carver’s Commitment to Excellence The underpinning of Carver’s vision is a rigorous curriculum of high expectations and a solid student commitment to success. It is the combination of a diverse population and an innovative curriculum which leads to this success. Carver Magnet High School’s mission is to provide students with the academic foundation and individualized support to ensure that each student achieves their own personal vision. Through the Performing Arts, Engineering, and Visual Arts houses these visions become reality
P-TECH (Pathway to Technology Initiatives)
P-TECH is a partnership among K-12, community college and industry, each making long-term comments and contributing their best expertise to provide students with rigorous and hands-on academic, technical and workplace experiences.
Students will earn an Associates Degree, Industry Certifications, and work-force hours in the Pathway to Technology classes. Students are also certified in OSHA.
Interior Design
The art and science of enhancing the interior of a building to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using the space.
Mechatronics
A combination of several types of engineering – electrical, computer, and mechanical – used in the contemporary, advanced automated manufacturing industry.
The Advanced Visual Arts program is based on studio classroom experiences in the areas of design, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture and electronic media. Students rotate through each area and are guided by master teachers.
Carver’s program is delivered in a small school studio environment that is designed to prepare students to be successful in college-level visual arts programs.
The Carver program features: Field trips to local art museums, galleries, art schools and colleges. Opportunities for student work to be exhibited in professional venues throughout the city. Carver is host to guest artists and speakers who represent art schools from across the nation. Scholarship opportunities unique to Carver are offered to our students often solely based on the strong reputation of the Visual Arts program. Students develop portfolios which receive local, state and national recognition.

THEATRE
Under the direction of Tony Award winning directors, the Panther Players Troupe #6753 has earned its status as a nationally recognized organization. The Panther Players have been interviewed and showcased on all mainstream news channels. Carver students and alumni work professionally all over the world, attend notable universities and are productive citizens.
CHOIR
Our students thrive in a collaborative environment, learning from one another to create performances that highlight both individual skill and collective artistry. They gain invaluable experience through participation in local and state competitions, showcasing their talents and representing our program with excellence.
Orchestra
Carver is proud to be the premier campus offering Strings Orchestra instruction across the district. Our program provides students with a wide range of instrumental opportunities, fostering both skill development and a deep appreciation for diverse musical genres. Students not only perform regularly but also compete at multiple levels, gaining valuable experience and recognition in the musical community.
Dance
Carver Aldine Dance offers an extensive and dynamic curriculum in advanced ballet and specialized movement. The program showcases original ballets that integrate a variety of dance styles, including Ballet, Jazz, and Multicultural influences. Students refine their artistry through rigorous training, creative expression, and performance opportunities. Graduates of the program are well-prepared to continue their studies at the collegiate level or pursue careers within professional dance companies.
Mariachi
Carver High School proudly stands as the only campus in the Aldine District offering professional training in the vibrant and historic art of Mariachi. Our award-winning program has captured attention and acclaim across the state, celebrating culture through passion, precision, and performance. Carver Mariachi students don’t just learn music—they live it. Through dynamic instruction and exciting competitions, they develop mastery, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the rich diversity of musical expression.
