The Carver Dance Department is an exceptional dance program dedicated to providing every dancer with an unparalleled educational experience. Specializing in modern, contemporary, ballet, and cultural dance, our program develops versatile, well-rounded dancers prepared to demonstrate competency across a variety of dance styles.

At Carver, dance education extends beyond movement. Students engage in reading, writing, choreography, dance history, anatomy, and the study of diverse dance forms and cultures. Through rigorous technical training, creative exploration, performance opportunities, and academic study, students develop the discipline, artistry, confidence, and knowledge necessary to succeed both on and beyond the stage.

The Carver Dance Company is a distinguished performance ensemble composed of talented high school students from G.W. Carver Magnet High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and P-TECH. Rooted in a mission to provide exceptional opportunities in dance education, the company empowers each student to grow artistically, technically, and personally through rigorous training and meaningful performance experiences. The dancers proudly represent Aldine ISD at school, community, and city-wide events, sharing their passion for the arts and fostering cultural engagement through dance. The Carver Dance Company is led by Director, Brianna McCray Holmes and Assistant Director, Kyndal Hutto.

Carver Dance Company has performed and received awards in performances such as, but not limited to: 

• 2026, 2025, 2024  Texas Association of Dance Educators All State Dancer
• 2026, 2025, 2024 Texas Association of Dance Educators Division I Rating
• 2025 Houston Thanksgiving Parade Opening Performance
• 2025 Regional High School Festival – Texas A&M University – College Station, Texas
  • Students were selected to showcase 3 performances on a Regional Level.. Students received over 35 college scholarships and summer intensive offers.

• 2024 National High School Dance Festival – Point Park University- Pittsburgh, PA
  • Students were selected to showcase 2 performances on a National Level. Students received over 25 college scholarships and summer intensive offers.
