Carver High School Theatre participated in the Texas Thespians State Festival 2025 November 20-22, 2025. 18 students received superior ratings and advanced to nationals and one student qualified in two events. The students also shined in many Texas Only Events. Results are below.

MusicalWorks is a Texas only competition that promotes original musical writing by high school students. David & Johnny’s original musical All I See is You was recognized as a finalist at the NextGen Showcase!
ShowWorks Participants
Tre’Veon Green & Ka’Sean Francis both received an Excellent Performer Award.
The 24-Hour ShowWorks Festival offers students a unique opportunity to audition for a role in a 30-minute new play. Once cast, students will collaborate with an experienced director to bring the production to life. Each play will be performed, critiqued, and judged during the festival, followed by an awards ceremony where students will be eligible for acting awards.
Texas Thespians Scholarship Recipient
Niya Kelly received a Texas Thespians College Scholarship. She was 1 of 37 students awarded out of about 300 students who applied.
Texas Thespians All State Company Performer
Cedric Miller
The students cast in the All State Closing Ceremony Cast & Crew learned songs and choreography from Director/ Choreographers and Broadway Performers, Barry Busby and Leslie Flesner. The All-State Cast, which included Carver’s own Cedric Miller, performed for the entire Texas Thespian delegation at closing ceremonies in Grapevine!
There were over 400 troupes and 12,000 students represented between the two festivals and we were one of the 111 Gold Honor troupes. Texas Thespians Honor Troupe distinction recognizes troupes for the tremendous work they do, both on and off stage, in their school and communities. We are Panther Proud and thank you all for your continuous support of the arts!!
