We want to give a huge shoutout to our 2025/26 Teacher of the year, Mrs. Veronica Flores. Lets get to know more about her.
Veronica Flores graduated from Sul Ross State University with a Bachelor of Arts. She majored in Spanish and minored in Psychology. She has been teaching for 15 years, with the last 14 years at Carver Magnet High School. She teaches Spanish courses ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
In 2013, she founded Carver Ballet Folklórico as an extension of Spanish Club. The program was created to celebrate the diversity of folk dance traditions by showcasing vibrant dances from different regions of Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries. The group began with just three dancers and has grown to 25 members, ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
She enjoys working with the community and takes pride in putting on engaging performances.

It’s a message she can share with students to support them in moments of self-doubt or challenge, encouraging them to stay determined and keep working toward their goals with patience and effort instead of giving up.
